An award-winning experimental filmmaker with expertise in media and cinema studies, Chi Jang Yin's work investigates the gaps in history that are invisible to others. Yin’s expertise in experimental cinema, VR documentary, cinéma vérité, and media literacy informs a diverse body of award-winning work that has been recognized internationally in galleries, exhibitions, and film festivals.

Director’s Statement
For the past decade, Yin’s research and teaching have examined the historical and social causes of warfare and violence and their disparate effects on humanity. Topics of investigation include the Manhattan Project, nuclear discourse, radioactive waste, contaminated environment, and US Gun Culture.
Recent VR documentary projects include collaborating with Dr. Yuki Miyamoto on the environmental issues caused by the atomic industry and nuclear weapon programs in the US and with Professor Allen Turner, Director of the Original Game Lab at DePaul, on Indigenous healing and landscape studies.
